Robyn Kievit

Welcome!

I learned to ask the question, “What do you need right now?” in a conversation with Dr. Jennifer Gaudiani in her second appearance on my podcast. We were talking about patient care and related this question as well to our children. Since our conversation this is a question I have gone back to numerous times for patients, family, friends and to be honest, myself.

In addition to many podcast updates, more news on the practice is below and I’m so excited to share this with you!

In best health,
Robyn

What Do You Need Right Now?

I’ve been waiting to announce a website update and I realized a couple of weeks ago it does not all have to be perfect.

The question ‘What do you need right now?’ enabled me to think more about my practice and what it needed. My own answer to this question professionally was a redesign of my website and a specific website for the course I created for dietitians in the fall of 2025. Feeling aligned with how I’m putting the practice out into the world is not complete, rather ever changing, constantly dynamic. Rather than announcing this is complete, let me know your thoughts on this work in progress.

At the same time, here’s what’s new.

The main site has a fresh look and a clearer story: hormone therapy, body image, and vitality, all the ways those three things show up together for women in midlife. If you’ve worked with me, none of this is new information. This is all finally organized the way I actually think about it. The practice focus also includes psychopharmacology and the combination(s) of this with hormone therapy for so many women.

The course, Beyond Nutrition, also has its own home now. I built this for dietitians and clinicians who keep running into the same wall I did many years ago: a client’s case moves beyond what nutrition counseling alone can hold, and nobody trained us for what happens when hormones are the missing piece. The course is broken down more thoroughly with an update to seven lessons. We still review real cases and for dietitians there are 3.5 CPEs through CDR, plus a bonus 1:1 30 minute meeting with me built in. If you’re a clinician in perimenopause or menopause yourself, you’re not alone there either and often the 1:1 calls are vulnerable in nature to the clinician’s journey.

The podcast has also had a very full few months. We’re now at 9,900 listeners in 80 countries and this is all completely organic. It’s amazing to me that folks are finding their way to these conversations and sharing them with someone else who needs to hear it. Below are the latest three podcasts recorded this year.

Dr. Eric Zhou, PhD

Dr. Eric Zhou, PhD, a specialist in sleep disorders, and I spoke for the first episode of season 5. His expertise and care of so many patients utilizing CBTi (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) has been incredibly beneficial to their mental health and overall well being. We discuss how and why CBTi can and does work and why for women in mid-life this is such a crucial piece to their wellbeing. Learning to ask our patients and ourselves ‘Are You Happy With Your Sleep?’ can be the first question into a thoughtful history, plan of care and overall better quality of life. The podcast is found on Apple and Spotify.

Dr. Jen Gaudiani

Returning guest, Dr. Jen Gaudiani, Founder and Medical Director of The Gaudiani Clinic, joins us again to discuss her updated book ‘Sick Enough’ discuss what’s new in this second edition covering PTSD, perimenopause and menopause (including a case study), advances in eating disorder treatment, innovative therapies involving interventional psychiatry, and the importance of thoughtful, compassionate care. She shares her journey of learning from patients, new research, and practical advice for clinicians regarding medications and families navigating complex medical and psychological challenges. Here is the link on Apple and Spotify.

Dr. Jenn Salib Huber

Dr. Jenn Salib Huber is a registered dietitian, naturopathic doctor, intuitive eating counselor and author of Eat To Thrive During Menopause as well as host to podcast, The Midlife Feast. She shares her dual degree journey from dietetics to integrative medicine, emphasizing intuitive eating and evidence-based nutrition for midlife women. We cover practical strategies to navigate menopause, how to build body confidence, and how to create nourishing meals and practices with simple, sustainable habits. Our recording can be found on Apple and Spotify.

Victoria Kleinsman and Elka Cubacub, LICSW

I was also lucky enough to be the guest instead of the host twice recently with Victoria Kleinsman, eating disorder recovery coach, and Elka Cubacub, LICSW, therapist. Victoria and I talked through varying support for women in the midlife transition including sleep, mood, nourishment and body image changes. We also embrace what women can possibly experience in perimenopause. Our recording is on YouTube and can be found here. Elka and I had a very different conversation and focused much on entrepreneurship with a vulnerable discussion about money.

All of the podcast links I’ve recorded over the years can be found here.

What do you need right now? I’d genuinely love to know! Reply or leave it in the comments on social media. This whole redesign came out of asking myself that question, and it only feels right to ask you too.
